Frequently asked questions

The questions that come up most often.

Do I need an electrician?

Not to plug the battery in. It leaves the factory capped at 600 W and connects to an ordinary 230 V domestic socket.

Two reservations we would rather state: the SIA 2061 §5.3.1 standard treats a storage system as an electrical installation falling to a licensed professional, and some grid operators read it that way. And lifting the cap above 600 W does require a licensed electrician.

Why 600 W?

It is the ceiling set by ESTI communication 7/2014 for a device connected to a socket: above it, the installation falls to a licensed professional. We apply that value at the factory, before dispatch. A battery set to another value and resold as-is in Switzerland does not meet this regime.

Can I install it in rented accommodation?

Yes, as long as the battery is not fixed to the structure and stays plugged into an existing socket: you are not altering the home’s electrical installation. For a balcony system with panels, tell your landlord. Flexible panels are strapped rather than drilled, which settles the question of holes.

What happens during a power cut?

Models with a backup output keep supplying whatever is connected to it, switching over in under 10 to 15 milliseconds depending on the model. The power available in backup mode is given on each product page.

How long does it last, and what does the warranty cover?

LFP cells are rated for 6 000 to 10 000 full cycles depending on the model, well beyond ten years at one cycle a day. The manufacturer’s warranty runs for ten years. On top of that comes the two-year statutory warranty under Swiss law, for which we answer as the seller.

How does delivery work?

By freight carrier, on a pallet, to your address: a battery weighs 20 to 60 kg and contains lithium, which rules out ordinary post. The rate depends on weight and region and is quoted before any order.

A model is out of stock, when will it be back?

A restock is being arranged. We only announce a date once the carrier has confirmed it.

Leave your address on the model’s page: those on the list are told first, before it goes back online publicly.

Is the recycling levy extra?

No. The advance disposal levy collected by INOBAT is owed by the importer, that is us, and it is already in the price shown. Nothing is added for it at payment.
