From 600 to 2500 W: the role of a licensed electrician

Why the cap exists, what lifting it actually changes, and what it costs in time.

All our socket-connected batteries leave the factory limited to 600 W. That limit is not a weakness in the hardware: it is the condition for staying in the plug & play regime, the one that spares you a licensed installer and a safety report.

What 600 W already covers

The benefit that matters. At 600 W the battery quietly takes up the day’s solar surplus and returns it in the evening: fridge, lighting, router, television, the household standby load. That is precisely the baseload running during peak hours. The savings figures on this site are calculated in this mode, not the other one.

What lifting the cap changes

Above 600 W you leave the socket for a fixed installation. A licensed electrician connects the battery to the consumer unit, files the notification with the grid operator and issues the safety report. Allow half a day. In return, available power multiplies by four or more: heavy loads such as the hob, the heat pump and the charging point move onto the battery, and the house rides out a cut.

Venus D 600 W par défaut · 2 500 W si installée par un électricien

Manufacturer figures from Marstek. The power actually permitted also depends on your connection and your grid operator.

Should you do it right away?

Rarely. The hardware is the same and so is the warranty: nothing has to be bought again to take the step later. Starting on a socket, watching six months of readings, then deciding with figures in hand is a sensible approach, and it costs nothing if the answer is no.
